Single task at a time in OMP (oh-my-pi)
16 October 2026
For those of us who are trying to do local LLMs with a single GPU, a recurring annoyance is any software that tries to do multiple things at once. This includes coding harnesses that try to spawn subagents to “parallelise work”, which for us means “do the same work but slower because it keeps ejecting the KV cache while it switches back and forth between sessions.”
In OMP (oh-my-pi), edit %USERPROFILE%/.omp/agent/config.yml to include:
task: maxRecursionDepth: 0
Your agent will no longer be able to spawn subagents. If you try, it will say something like “tool has no registered session tools — there’s no sub-agent spawn device in this harness.”
